Mondays sometimes stink. Even for bums like me, that no longer have to go to a day job.
So here are some things that Made my Monday:
1. Tonight is the kickoff of softball season (GO RED!), and while it will be frigid it will also begin one of my favorite things about summer: the fellowship and camaraderie of our church’s softball program. It’s not just the guys, it’s good family bonding/community building time.
2. This accessory armoire that my friend Becky created for a Goodwill contest. She could really stand a chance to win if she makes the top 10! (she’s currently 11th) Voting ends today and I am doing everything I can to help her get into the top 10 (kind of tough when you’re competing with devoted Cubs fans). So if you have a sec, please go vote for her? No registration necessary, just go click “Vote”! Thanks!
3. This post from Modern Reject’s Nicole Cottrell on how we should Stop Quoting the Bible.
It is not enough to reach for scripture when trouble comes or when things feel impossible. It is not enough to casually and callously throw around scriptures in an attempt to use them as a bandaid for our hemorrhaging lives.
(I’d love to hear your thoughts on her post in the comments)
4. This post from Jen Hatmaker, When is it Time to Walk Away?; Which prompts me to finally consider letting go–REALLY letting go–of a friendship
5. That Fromm Family Foods has excellent customer service and will replace the expensive 5# bag of cat food that the girls just can’t eat (I’ll spare you the details, but it made for an interesting late night last Wednesday)
6. Listening to the SMASH song “Heart Shaped Wreckage” a dozen-ish times
7. This adorably cheeky Downton Abbey/Broadway spoof (and ummmmhai Jeremy Jordan…… drool…..)
…and morning cuddles with the sometimes demonic creature possessing these pink toes:
Try and have a good Monday, people.
